Should I be worried if we don't speak Chinese at home and my child always replies to me in English?
That is not a worry! TGEE provides more than enough practice and Chinese learning in the sessions so that you and your child do not have to worry about doing more at home!
An example of TGEE’s effectiveness is with one of our Thai students. He had only been in Singapore’s local school through AEIS exams in the second half of Primary 3 after Mid-year exams. He had never learned Chinese before and was so lost. Both of his parents are Thai, and there was nobody at home to help with his Chinese learning!
He has joined TGEE in P3 August. By P4 end-of-year, our Thai student was offered to Higher Chinese Learning (HCL) together with 3 other Chinese students.
TGEE is happy to share that by P5, our Thai student will start his HCL journey! We cannot wait to see him continue to excel! If our Thai students can succeed without any Chinese speaker at home to practice with and learn from, then your child will have no issue!
How do you charge?
The tuition fee of $90/session (8 session package price, discounted with higher session packages) pays for a total of 4.5 hrs weekly session for students for FOUR fundamentals: syllabus/textbook, oral, composition writing, and exam prep.
Compare this to $60 for 2 hrs a week in just ONE fundamental that other tuition centers provide!
What if we missed our lessons? What if we missed our discussions?
Discussion make-up sessions will only be possible during Holidays or Public Holidays.
Discussion scheduling will be set at the session booking/payment and runs from 3:00-6:30 PM and 7-10PM daily, excluding the weekends.
If schedule conflicts for the foreseeable future arise, then we are happy to find a better fixed schedule for you and your child!
How many students are in one class?
Maximum of 6 students for Lectures. Discussions will be 1-on-1 with your child!
What material are they learning?
TGEE will focus initially on the MOE syllabus and textbooks. Everything taught in Lectures and sessions will prepare your child to excel in their exams. TGEE believes that the textbook is king. Essentially, if your child knows their textbook by heart, then your child should at least be scoring AL2 in their Chinese exams with TGEE!
What if we sign up and my child does not performing well?
Parents are involved and updated for their child’s learnings and progress in TGEE.
TGEE has a very unique and complete feedback system:
1) Parents are encouraged to book a Progress call with us on the monthly basis,
2) during Lectures, we will have quiz to track your child’s revision progress,
3) during Office hours, your child will also be given mock exams to do, so TGEE able to detect their progression in a timely manner.
This process lets TGEE quickly detect and diagnose that your child may need additional sessions or help, and we will appropriately update you!
My child has been doing well for Primary 3 and 4, but in Primary 5 his result dropped?
This is to be expected to see a huge drop in Primary 5, as students in Singapore are only required to take exams in Primary 3.
Since many schools do not give students full exams with all components (listening, oral, comprehension, and composition), your child will not get an accurate indicator of performance until Primary 5 exams.
That is why TGEE stresses and focuses on all the components and checks progress in the full Chinese exam components!
For young kids who do not have any exams in schools from Primary 1 to Primary 3, what do we focus on
TGEE is not just about having a fun class, but also we are preparing your child for exam formats and making sure your child is familiar in order to excel for their future exams!

What can we do to prepare/ help my child at home?
TGEE believes in actively collaborating with you for your child’s goals! Schedule with TGEE for a phone call providing a monthly update with your child’s progress and school’s exam schedule.
We highly recommend this to better align and ensure your child’s success! The monthly update calls will go over your child’s exam schedule, feedback and struggles your child may have, and attendance/engagement during sessions.
